

Summer Internships Opportunities
Think of each summer as an opportunity to work different scientific areas. Research experience is of utmost importance to those students wishing to pursue any kind of academic degree, especially in the STEM fields. Here, you will work under world-renowned researchers, meet students from around the country and present research findings at the end of most programs. Some opportunites count with funding so students may recieve a small stipend. Graduate schools are leaning more towards a more holistic view of a candidate rather than excellent test scores and perfect GPAs. Summer research opportunities allow you to take active leadership roles and present an incrediable networking opportunity.

The Summer Medical and Dental Educational Program is a 6 week paid summer internship for first and second year undergraduate students interested in pursuing a degree in medicine or odontology.

The Summer Internship Program is one of the most coveted internships in the US. Students from all around the nation compete for a spot to spend a summer working at the NIH side-by-side with some of the leading scientists in the world, in an environment devoted exclusively to biomedical research.

The Amgen Scholars Program provides hundreds of undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage in a hands-on summer research experience at some of the world's leading institutions.

Summer Participants spend 8-10 weeks at a Leadership Alliance institution where they work under the guidance of a faculty or research mentor and gain theoretical knowledge and practical training in academic research and scientific experimentation. At the end of the summer students present oral or poster presentations at the Leadership Alliance National Symposium.Additionally, participants receive a stipend, and travel and housing expenses from the research institution.

Students taking BIOL4990 will be working under the supervision of a PI who will assign them different laboratory tasks. This class serves as an introduction to research and polishes students' abilities in scientific research and writing.

The primary objectives of this institution is the facilitation of scholarly interactions with students and scholars at universities, museums, and other research institutions around the world.

Unlike so many other internship programs, there are NO fees to apply for or participate in a HACU internship. All HACU internship positions are PAID. HACU will arrange housing in the internship location (optional). Travel to and from the orientation and/or work site can be arranged at no cost to HACU interns. Provisions can be made for interns to receive academic credit. Free professional development activities are gularly offered during the course of the program.

Every year, 15 students embark on a 10 week intensive journey of learning about the challenging and gratifying road of becoming a physician-scientist. Realizing that this takes away from your summer vacation, students receive a stipend, currently $4,300, and are reimbursed for their travel expenses. In addition, one family member is flown out to NYC for the final presentations and accommodated at a high-end hotel in New York City.

The UPR System has an array of researchers seeking undergraduate students to help in their laboratories. Some investigators have grants and are willing to pay students based on their merit.
