Who we are
The S.O.S. Naturales program was established in order to guide, support and encourage incoming undergraduate at the School of Natural Sciences, University of Puerto Rico RÃo Piedras Campus. We are a team of peer mentors that is dedicated to help freshmen students get aquainted with college life after spending 12 years in the K-12 system. They help students during the registration process and provide advice related to the curricular sequences of different majors and possible future courses. In addition, our mentors organize workshops focused on time and stress management, study techniques, how to organize a CV and portfolio, summer research opportunities and many more. Finally, our mentors are familiarized with each department's rules and procedures and can direct students to faculty personnel that can address their particular concerns.

Our Mission
Based on the need for guidance during university life, undergraduate science students working for UPR-CRES designed S.O.S. Naturales; a peer-to-peer based mentoring program that provides for experienced undergraduate students to guide incoming and current undergraduate students in their different paths to academic success, thus making a space for Pre-Med's and future PhD's, M.S.'s, MD/PhD's and so forth. Our mentors give students an edge regarding academic experience, studying techniques and university life hacks: the do's and don't's towards achieving your future career goals.
